Meet the Photographer
From a young age, photography has always been part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are of snowy winter days spent with my Dad, trudging through the cold for hours, clicking away until my fingers stung and my camera battery finally gave up. I always had a camera in hand and loved capturing moments at weddings, parties and family gatherings, often noticing the small details and quiet angles that others missed.
When I qualified as a midwife, I knew I needed a creative outlet, but life was busy and the opportunity never quite came. Everything changed when I became a mother. My daughter was unexpectedly very poorly at birth, and we sadly missed the chance to have those precious first family photographs. It was during that time that Oatmeal Newborn Photography was born. I didn’t want other families to miss out, whether due to health challenges or financial pressures. I wanted to create a business that made beautiful, meaningful newborn photography accessible, while allowing me to slow down, be present, and nurture my creativity.
As a qualified midwife, I bring not only clinical knowledge but calm reassurance, safety, and confidence into every session, along with that ‘magic touch’ when handling newborns. As a mother, I understand the whirlwind of emotions that come with pregnancy and early parenthood, the changes your body goes through, and the deep desire to stay cocooned at home with your baby in those first tender weeks.
All of this comes together in Oatmeal Newborn Photography. It is a business built from experience, compassion and love — truly created from the heart.
Photography is my passion, my stillness, my creativity. Every session, every gallery is made with pure love.
